History

Prolific-Technology began in 2004 when Mr. Gregory Proctor- founder used a mere $50 dollars to start the company.  His wife Valerie encouraged him to pursue his destiny and created the name Prolific- Technology defined as the abundance of productivity. She created the name from reviewing all of her husband’s past performance evaluations. Working from his kitchen table in Ayer, Massachusetts while attending the University of Phoenix at night; Mr. Proctor began planning to leave behind his successful career in the semiconductor industry. Along with the support of his wife and  2 daughters; Mr. Proctor’s goal was to close the technical & engineering gap with individual customers by offering a better programmatic method for planning projects.

The company vision started out as a third party decommissioning & dismantling service rendering technical & engineering consulting services for cleanroom capital equipment extractions. The goal was to provide the customer with a safe and efficient shutdown, decommissioning, dismantling, packaging and shipping service that was lower cost and comparable quality to the traditional capital equipment suppliers. In the fall of 2004, the founder was offered a consulting opportunity to subcontract on a 300mm semiconductor construction project. Embracing the project management knowledge that was provided along with building a relationship, developing tools and methodologies of project controls, Mr. Proctor became a steward of the PMI ways.  After 18 months of continued project management education and training, eventually Prolific-Technology was sought out to deliver the sustainable and reporting means for the client’s project control organization. In the spring of 2006, Prolific’s founder began adopting the studies of “corporate business lifecycle” known as Adizes theory into its daily business practices.

Late summer of 2006, the company was awarded a contract with Sandia National Laboratory to assist with planning and capital equipment extraction of a Tandem Van de Graaff–Pelletron Accelerator, followed by projects with the National Science Foundation (NEON) and NEC’s capital equipment extraction project rounded out the year.  By January 2007, the company had begun to bridge its technical and engineering experience with project controls. During the summer of 2007, the company was introduced to Washington Group International, Tetra Tech and Worley Parson–Polestar (formally known as Polestar) during a Department of Energy procurement opportunity. Unaware of the impact that our company would have on this procurement effort, our team was focused on delivering the highest quality scheduling product to our clients. The results of the endeavor would catapult our company into the Department of Energy nuclear remediation industry for the next four years to come.

Upon completion of the efforts with three partnering companies, Gregory realized that Prolific-Technology had found its niche. He discovered if the company tapped into a mix of in house and associate capabilities in project management, technical operations management and facility planning to apply the right expertise at the right time, it could potentially move projects toward success.  This chemistry allowed the company to achieve 65% growth between 2007-2008, followed by international expansion of (PTCGLUK) and continued to excel beyond 73% growth between 2008-2009.

Prolific-Technology’s 5th anniversary was celebrated in 2008-2009 with the release of a new brand name Prolific-Technology Consulting Group, LLC (PTCGL).  In 2009, the company formed its first teaming agreement with Babcock & Wilcox and URS (BWCS) for the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride M&O project.  Also during this period the company continued to develop proposal schedules & cost estimates while participating on many various IDIQ and ARRA projects.

In February of 2010, PTCGL was subcontracted by E2 to prepare and deliver SRR’s American Reinvestment and Recovery Act proposal and Performance Measurement Baseline, in response to an award of $200 million in ARRA funding by the Department of Energy.  PTCGL provided a small team of highly skilled cost and scheduling personnel to complete the deliverables on time and under budget.

While true that PTCGL has experienced plenty of growth in the past several years, the company continues to be one of the best project controls companies diversified in multiple industries.
